Britomart is one of Shasti's litter of eight kittens. See Shasti's page for the full story and more pictures. Britomart was the first of the kittens I could identify individually; when they were five days old, I noticed that the little blonde one was very noisy and assertive in the competition for the teats. She was the vanguard kitten as the litter developed: the first one to open her eyes, to walk, to get out of the nest box, and to use the litter box.

Britomart has remained energetic and independent as an adult. She is affectionate and enjoys lap-sitting, and is the only one of Shasti's brood who will occasionally greet visitors. She gets along well with other cats, and is on very good terms with her mother and littermates.
