Zenobia was another foundling kitten. She turned up in my garage in late
September, 2004, when she was only about five weeks old, crying, hungry, and
with no mother in sight. I fed her, and when her mother didn't reappear in a
few hours, took her in as she was much too young to fend for herself. She
drank kitten formula voraciously for a couple of weeks while experimenting
with solid food, then pronounced herself weaned.
She has grown up to be a thoroughly nice cat, lively and playful, and
very affectionate. Zenobia gets along well with the rest of the gang, playing
with the younger set and curling up with some of the older ones. She seems
especially attached to Ancalagon, whom she strongly resembles. Since they're
both local strays there is a good chance they're related, but I have no way
of knowing how closely.
Zenobia's favorite hobby is dragging the dishcloth from the kitchen into
the bedroom, usually leaving it on the bed. I have no idea why this is so
important to her, but she does it almost every night, and in the day while
I'm at work.
